5 Facebook Hints - Birthday thoughts - Paco

So it's my birthday and my friend made me a cake!!   It was awesomesauce.  Yellow cake with light chocolate frosting

See the beautiful rainbow of perfection?

Five Facebook Hints:

1. ALWAYS TYPE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE PEOPLE ON YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS WALL.
We look for that.  It has become something we look forward to.  Funny little wishes through out the entire day.  GREAT.  Plus thanks to internets our friends on the other side of the world get to experience our birthdays first and throw out that first Happy Birthday post.!

2.ONCE YOU UNFRIEND SOMEONE YOU CAN'T TRY TO FRIEND THEM AGAIN.
People just don't change much and unless they lose their internets, then their Facebook wall isn't changing either.

3.KEEP THE DRAMA OFF OF FACEBOOK.
Every one has a line that people cannot cross and sometimes that line just might be your post about how horrible your life is.

4.POLITICS AND RELIGION CAUSE EMOTIONAL RESPONSES ON YOUR COMMENT SECTION.
Even the lighthearted stuff evokes a reaction.  Sometimes that reaction is to unfriend you so see number 2.

5. FACEBOOK HAS EVERY ONE ON THERE. EVERY. ONE.
Be AWARE of what you post on your wall.   It follows you forever.  Clouds are real.  So are stalkers of Facebook, Twitter, InstaGram and the internets.

For the record....Paco is not home yet. I've lit a candle.

All of Me

It has been awhile since I have blogged and I have learned a ton of stuff with age comes wisdom.  Seriously it begins to just wash over you.  When you realize that everything is bigger than you you gain perspective.  Life is all about perspective. For a while there I was thinking life was all about money, who you knew, or what you know.  It isnt.  It is more about family.  It is about happy.  It is about crossing the river.

My son is going through chaos of his own creation.  I, being the supportive and overly protective mom I am, stepped into the middle of his storm.  I handled that wrong. He is an adult now and I have to let him fight his own battles.  I need to be there for him but not to be his mouth piece. This chaos has put him in battle with some inner demons that I can't fight and it has made him become reclusive even with family. I tried to make him see things from a different perspective and he just could/can not left go of the angry perspective.  So for my well being I have let him dig his own hole.

My daughter has blossomed!  She is completely coming into her own.  I am proud of the things she wants to do and of the things she is learning on her own.

My husband and I have found for the most part our happy again....took some time but we are back to laughing together and wanting to plan things to do and all is well.

Hubby even after 15 years found the perfect "our song" and since I have been constantly sending him verses via texts and facebook.  HA

I am learning to that even though I love my sisters completely they are people in their own right and have families that do not have to incorporate me and my children.  This was difficult for me because I wanted Christmas all year long and that is just not going to be.

My dad is also doing ok.  I wish he would stop with the pride and just move in with one of us already, but until then we all help him out.

My friends are very important to me.  The each hold something special to me and I am grateful for their perspectives, probably more than I let them know.  They have become integral in my life.   I need there support, advice, shoulder, laughter, and wine.

So recently I learned about perspective.  My dad has a wealth of knowledge!!  I need to record him more often it is a necessity! He told my reclusive son...you fear crossing the river because you think you might miss something while crossing the river, just cross the damn river.
He told him Do not rush to things they are going to happen when they are going to happen.
He told him Dont work overtime that extra money doesnt compensate for the time you lose looking for a better job or time to be with your family.
My favorite Dad told my son Be around people whom you know you can be very easily be their leader.  <<<thats a gem right there.

Then my son said "Papa I think I know too much" Dad without hesitation said You dont know anything. <<<BAM

As I sat there listening to the wisdom that was being set out at my dining room table I gained a new perspective.  I have my happy.

Play Dates: is there a list 5 Play Date Do's and Don'ts

How do you do the play date thing??  I mean what happened to just playing outside.   Does that not happen any more??   How does a block that has about twenty children under the age of 12 never have a child outside playing???  I think it is sad that children that are growing up together aren't growing up together.  Especially in this day, electronics rule the day and there are ACTUALLY SEVERAL 24 HOUR CARTOON SLASH TEEN CHANNELS our children should be running outside to play. Instead my eight year old daughter goes outside alone and rides her bike alone. Up and down the street, making noise hoping the noise will entice the other children to come outside to play with her.  It's sad really.
Maybe I don't know the play date rules.

1. Do Not Ask more than once.   It get annoying after that! It's akin to your child doing the "mom, ma, mom, mooommmm, mama." bit.  I mean we all have full plates with our daily lives then throw in another child and all the "fun" stuff you have to do leads me to number two.

2. Do Not Make your childs play date your play date! The play dates that have occurred at my house have lasted realllly long and at the end I was very exhausted! It should be kids playing, not inclusive of me.

3.  Do Not turn play date into sleep over.  See number 2.

4. Do have a few open days when you call to ask the parent.  So it should go like this...Hi So-so Mom, we are free this weekend is So-so available for a play date?

5.Do know that you will be told no more than yes.  For your childs sake you have to ask again...via text....next month.

So until we get some more play date invites my neighborhood will have to endure my child riding her bike or scooter up and down the street, writing with chalk on the sidewalks, picking of some flowers from some well kept yard, and/or screaming with glee.
